Little Tikes Doggie Etiquette 101

A course for children, not dogs. Kids learn how to read a dog's body language, greet safely, and handle a family pet with confidence and kindness.

Format
Small-group course for children, with a parent present
Length
Four weekly classes, one hour each
Best for
Children roughly 5 to 12, in families with a dog or thinking about one

What we cover

Week 1 — Dog talk

What wagging, yawning, licking and stiff bodies really mean.

Week 2 — Saying hello

Asking first, offering a hand, and when to walk away.

Week 3 — Gentle hands

Petting, brushing, and giving treats without fingers in the way.

Week 4 — Helping at home

Feeding, short leash walks, and being the dog's safe person.

Common questions

Does my child need our own dog?

No. We bring a steady demonstration dog, and children practise with them.

Do parents stay?
